This is the recommended guideline to determine which group your child would be best suited in. When determining the sessions to sign up for, please consider the maturity, age, ability, and endurance of your child. Our goal is to provide a safe fun way to introduce to game of a lifetime to your young golfer. To participate in junior golf your child must be through 1 year of school. It is recommended that each child have their own set of clubs and that you tag all of your child’s clubs with their name.

Beginner: New to the game of golf, focusing on how to make contact with the ball, grip a club, and a basic overview of golf rules and etiquette.

Intermediate: Some golf experience, able to make contact with the ball on a more consistent basis but does not have the skills to play on their own. This group will focus on better contact with the ball, emphasis on the short game, and preparing them for play on the course.

Advanced: For our most experienced junior golfers. This group is for juniors who are comfortable playing on their own or without supervision. The junior can make contact with the golf ball majority of the time and have basic knowledge of the rules of golf, etiquette, and scoring. Instruction will be focused more on improving ball flight, bigger emphasis on working your way around the course, and drills to practice on their own.

Chaperones are needed for the following dates:

  • PGA Jr League
    • What is PGA Junior League:

Our goal is to provide an opportunity for all FCO junior golfers who are serious about the game, to continue development and preparation for tournament competition. This program is deisinged to help identify & encourage competitive juniors who are looking to play golf in junior tournaments outside of the club, on high school teams, & possibly beyond (college).

PGA Junior League at FCO is for junior golfers age 9-13 for all skill levels and golf experience. PGA Junior League offers that introductory stepping stone to tournament play through 9-hole team competitions. PGA Junior League will serve as a fun, social and less stressful approach to tournament golf providing juniors with knowledge and skills that encourage long term youth development and a lifetime of enjoyment with the game of golf.

      Format:

Each team is broken down into two-person pairs (or three if a substitute is included)  who play together in games.‍ All PGA Jr. League games are played in a two-person scramble format. This means that both players in a pair hit drives. The best shot is selected, then each player plays from the selected spot, and this process continues until the ball is holed.‍ The scramble format is key in allowing everyone to hit shots and contribute to the team. PGA Jr. League utilizes match play scoring, which focuses on performance vs. a score-to-par as is traditional with golf.‍ Within a PGA Jr. League game, pairs play in a head-to-head, 9-hole match. Each match is broken into three flags. Each flag is three holes in a row, and each team has the opportunity to earn points at the end of each flag.

      Price:

The price for Team Golf will be $300 per player.  This price will include a PGA Jr League Polo; numerous group lessons; play on the golf course; and a Nebraska Junior Golf membership that will come with a NJG Bag Tag, Rules of Golf App, USGA Handicap, and an NJG Gift.

      Event Dates (Wednesdays):

      TBD

      Practices of Field Club (Sundays):

      TBD
